We are seeking an AI Software Engineer who will implement and maintain API integrations that connect various data sources to support intelligent software agents and AI models. Ideal candidates have experience performing backend API development with specializations in Node.js, TypeScript, and Python. They have a basic familiarity with relational databases, modern cloud technologies, and with the emerging AI technology landscape. They can collaborate effectively to implement solutions under the guidance of senior team members. They have a passion to explore emerging AI technologies to pursue new creative solutions for the business.
Your impact:
- Work with AI teams to integrate APIs into agentic software and LLM-powered tools
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs with proper error handling, validation, and authentication
- Implement data retrieval functions from databases like Redshift, MySQL, and PostgreSQL
- Deploy API updates to existing services using containerized environments (Docker, AWS)
- Assist in troubleshooting API performance and reliability issues
- Write clean, maintainable code with appropriate documentation
- Participate in code reviews and follow team development standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of relevant software engineering experience with APIs and backend development
- Proficiency with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript/Node.js, and Express.js framework
- Experience with RESTful API development and integration
- Working knowledge of SQL and experience with at least one relational database system
- Basic knowledge of containerization (Docker) and cloud services (AWS)
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD practices
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- A passion for emerging AI technologies and an understanding of the current offerings from leading AI platforms such as OpenAI
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Python Pandas or similar data analysis tools
- Understanding of security best practices for API development
- Experience with AWS services (Lambda, ECR, ECS)
- Understanding of authentication mechanisms (JWT, OAuth)
- Knowledge of Knex.js or similar query builders/ORMs
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
