We are looking for a Lead Node.js Developer to join our growing team.
Project description: There are several projects in progress for the one of the largest consultancy companies in the US. These projects are related to the Insurance industry.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Design and implement low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications.
- Implement security and data protection measures.
- Integrate data storage solutions (e.g., databases, key-value stores, blob stores).
- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications.
- Ensure code quality and maintainability.
Mandatory requirements:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Expert in software development, particularly in backend development with Node.js.
- Expert in JavaScript and at least one additional programming language such as Typescript.
- Strong understanding of web-based project development.
- Sharp analytical abilities and strong system design skills.
- Strong fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, complexity analysis, and data structures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in mentoring or coaching others and conducting code reviews.
- Advanced SQL skills with experience in relational database management, complex query writing, and optimization.
- Familiarity with React and Express.
Optional requirements:
- Master’s or higher degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience with open-source web frameworks and backends
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms.
- Experience with GitHub Flow and GitHub Actions.
- Experience in mentoring or coaching.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms like Snowflake or Databricks.
- Past experience in insurance (US) domain is a strong advantage.
