Role Description
This role contributes to internal strategy and roadmap for one or more areas of Xfinity Mobile wireless and new wireless growth initiatives in Comcast Emerging Wireless.
- Perform complex research and analysis of market, technology, standards, competitive trends and projections.
- Responsible for overseeing design, implementation and evaluation of data engineering products.
- Guide multiple engineering teams to successfully deploy and operate products and applications.
- Provide guidance and leadership to other researchers in developing novel ways to solve problems and discover new products.
- Collaborate and influence teams and work cross-functionally.
- Integrate knowledge of business and functional priorities.
- Act as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment.
- Lead teams, projects, and share expertise.
Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline required
- 4+ years of experience in software development, data engineering, or data science
- Solid understanding of Apache Spark architecture, components, and concepts
- Proficiency in Spark programming using languages like Python/Scala and SQL
- Understanding of cluster management, configuration, and optimization in Databricks
- Ability to translate business requirements to a proposed technical solution
- Familiar with programming, object-oriented design, and application development skills (Python, Scala, SQL)
- Experience with AWS Solutions, GitHub, and Agile Development
- Knowledge of Grafana, Tableau, CARTO, and/or Power BI
Requirements
- Analyze large, complex data to determine actionable business insights using self-service analytics and reporting tools.
- Combine data as needed from disparate data sources to complete analysis.
- Communicate findings clearly and concisely through narrative-driven presentations and effective data visualizations to Company executives and decision makers.
- Promote and evangelize a culture of excellence, data driven discussions, healthy skepticism, intellectual curiosity, knowledge sharing, and teamwork.
