SIM/eUICC Expert / Solution Engineer (m/f/d)

Your Role

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on SIM/eUICC Expert / Solution Engineer to support the implementation, testing, and go-to-market of new eSIM products for both Consumer and IoT use cases, in alignment with GSMA SGP.22 and SGP.32 standards.

This is a freelance role (daily/hourly contract) with a minimum duration of 6 months and the possibility to work remotely, but with regular travel when required.

Your Impact

  • Design and test the new fully compliant SGP.32 IoT eUICC product (multi-form factor, multi-grade).
  • Design and test new Consumer and IoT eSIM profiles products, relying on emnify eIM and SMDP+ platforms (SGP.22 and SGP.32).
  • Coordinate with SIM vendors to define technical specifications, provisioning requirements, and delivery schedules.
  • Support development and testing of a Multi-IMSI STK Java Card Applet for eSIM and eUICC and ensure full interoperability across different vendor platforms.
  • Drive the acceptance testing and production rollout of the eSIM and SIM products.
  • Design, maintain and execute test suites (live and scripted command-based) for SIM/eSIM functionality, device compatibility and OTA behaviors.
  • Troubleshoot complex SIM/device/network issues and provide technical root cause analysis and fixes.
  • Participate in project tracking, documentation and milestone delivery from development through go-to-market.
  • Produce technical and commercial collaterals to support internal stakeholders and external customers (e.g. Product briefs, API docs, support materials, pricing sheets, internal announcements).

Your Skills

  • Proven experience in SIM/eSIM product engineering, testing, or technical consulting.
  • Strong expertise with SGP.02, SGP.22, SGP.32, SIM file structure design, OTA operations (HTTP, SMS), and GSMA testing standards.
  • Hands-on experience with SIM vendors and mobile operators worldwide.
  • Familiarity with mobile core elements (HLR/HSS/AUC) and connectivity management platforms.
  • Experience designing OTA campaigns and working with SMDP/SMDP+/SMSR/eIM platforms and APIs.
  • Ability to debug and analyze SIM/device/network issues using industry tools.
  • Fluent in English; excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing technical deliverables and priorities independently.
