Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing consulting business as their dedicated bookkeeper and administrative support specialist. You’ll play a crucial role in transforming their financial operations by catching up on historical bookkeeping records and establishing robust ongoing financial processes. Working directly with the business owner, you’ll manage the complete financial picture for a multi-client consulting practice, handling everything from transaction categorization to tax preparation support. The role offers excellent growth potential with the flexibility to expand into additional administrative responsibilities as the business continues to evolve and scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of catching up historical bookkeeping records from previous years to bring all accounts current and compliant
  • Manage comprehensive monthly bookkeeping operations for a dynamic consulting business serving multiple clients
  • Accurately categorise and record diverse business transactions including client payments, meals, travel expenses, software subscriptions, and other operational costs
  • Maintain precise records of debits and credits across different client accounts and project categories
  • Provide valuable tax preparation support and implement tax-efficient bookkeeping strategies to optimize financial outcomes
  • Support business operations through various administrative tasks as needs arise and the business grows
  • Utilize QuickBooks expertise to maintain organized, accurate, and easily accessible financial records
  • Collaborate directly with the business owner to ensure financial clarity and strategic decision-making support

Requirements

  • Demonstrated proficiency in QuickBooks software with hands-on experience managing complete bookkeeping systems
  • Strong foundation in bookkeeping fundamentals including thorough understanding of debits, credits, and financial statement preparation
  • Proven experience in proper transaction categorization, particularly for consulting or service-based businesses
  • Tax knowledge and understanding of tax-efficient bookkeeping practices strongly preferred
  • Ability and enthusiasm for handling diverse administrative tasks beyond core bookkeeping responsibilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Self-motivated professional who thrives in a collaborative remote work environment
