On behalf of our client, we are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to manage the financial records of rental properties with precision and care. The candidate will be responsible for handling rent collection, managing accounts payable and receivable, and preparing accurate financial reports. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of accounting principles and experience in real estate or property management. This role plays a key part in ensuring financial transparency and compliance for property owners and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
-
Rent Collection & Accounts Management
-
Monitor and record rent payments in coordination with property management.

Track and process all income and expenses.

Ensure accurate documentation and reconciliation of vendor invoices and client payments.

Follow up on outstanding balances promptly.

Financial Reporting & Reconciliation
-
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow reports).

Reconcile bank and credit card statements with accounting records.

Budgeting & Performance Monitoring

Assist in developing and maintaining property-level budgets.

Monitor financial performance against targets.

Recordkeeping & Data Entry
-
Maintain organized, accurate, and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.

Include rent payments, operating expenses, and maintenance costs.

Compliance, Audit & Problem Resolution

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and property-specific regulations.

Provide audit support and documentation.

Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in financial records.

Stakeholder Communication & Support

Collaborate with property managers, owners, and other stakeholders on financial inquiries.

Provide general finance and operations support, including special projects and administrative tasks.

Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in a rental property or real estate environment.

Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (required)

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Familiarity with accounting software and digital financial tools

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and journal entry processes

High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting

Excellent organizational and time management abilities

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Ability to handle large volumes of data independently

Amenable to work part-time (30 hours/week) – Monday to Friday between 8 AM to 5 PM Pacific Time (PDT/PST)
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with rental property accounting or property management bookkeeping

Understanding of real estate financial operations, including maintenance costs and lease structures

Experience preparing financial documentation for audits

Knowledge of relevant compliance standards and regulatory requirements in property finance.

Pay: $850/month
