Hiive is seeking a Director of Wealth Channel distribution to lead strategic growth initiatives in the wealth management sector. As a senior leader on the team, you will play a critical role in shaping our wealth manager channel strategy, developing high-impact relationships with the world’s most influential RIAs and institutional allocators, and driving demand to our products.

This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned wealth management business development professional to join a fast-scaling fintech disruptor as a foundational hire, help build customized private capital markets products for the wealth space and, over time, build a team to scale this motion into a major source of capital for the Hiive platform.

In this role, your responsibilities would include:

  • Identify, cultivate and establish strong relationships with participants across the wealth management ecosystem, including independent RIAs, supported-independence platforms, wirehouses and boutique investment banks – and ultimately, with end financial advisors on each of those platforms.

  • Understand the approach, needs and pain points of RIAs with regard to investing in private capital markets, and collaborate with the investments team to design and customize investment products to suit each segment of the channel.

  • Drive significant AUM growth for Hiive by placing Hiive investment products with RIAs.

  • Develop Hiive’s wealth channel sales engine by systematizing outreach, building and managing a pipeline of RIA prospects with assessments on deal potential, likelihood of close and post-close relationship management.

  • Identify new opportunities within the wealth management community, establish Hiive as a thought leader amongst this constituency, and deliver insights and analysis on competition and trends to the leadership team.

  • Work closely with the marketing team to design highly effective sales campaigns and collateral for RIA outreach and product placement.

  • Facilitate seamless onboarding for new RIA clients, and own relationships across their lifecycle with Hiive and ensure long-term RIA satisfaction, retention and upsales.

  • Ensure all business development activities adhere to regulatory standards and industry best practices, in collaboration with Hiive’s legal and compliance teams.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of direct business development or sales experience with a proven track record of building strong relationships with participants in the wealth management ecosystem across various platforms.

  • Direct experience selling investment products to RIAs and their platform advisors.

  • Deep understanding of private capital markets and alternative investment products, experience with selling private or registered funds.

  • Outstanding existing network of contacts within wealth management.

  • Exceptional sales acumen, negotiation skills and a results-driven mentality.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to navigate cross-functional dynamics quickly and efficiently to drive results.

  • Experienced leader with a strong sense of ownership, and the ability to effectively manage up and across Hiive.

  • Strong compliance mindset with a firm grasp of compliance boundaries as it pertains to the sales and marketing process.
