We are looking for a talented English News Writer to join our dynamic editorial team. As a News Writer, you will craft and refine compelling, original news content in pop culture that resonates with our diverse global audience. Working closely with our content researcher and editor, you will harness integrated tools — including AI — to create timely and engaging articles, ensuring we deliver fresh, fact-checked news daily.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write and refine news articles on pop culture, entertainment, and trending topics;
- Produce 3+ original articles per day, maintaining a high standard of quality;
- Utilize AI-powered tools to streamline content creation and editing processes;
- Conduct thorough fact-checking and ensure accuracy by working with primary sources;
- Work within our internal CMS system to publish articles and maintain content flow.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Native or proficient level of English (written and spoken);
- At least 1 year of commercial writing experience (journalism, editing, content writing, etc.);
- Proven experience in writing news content, particularly in pop culture or entertainment;
- Familiarity with CMS platforms (WordPress, Tilda, or similar);
- Strong organizational skills with excellent time management skills;
- A keen interest in pop culture and current events, paired with the creativity to deliver news that captivates and informs.
Your direct manager will be Razia, our Managing Editor. With over 7.5 years at AMO Publishing, she started as a writer and now leads the editorial team. Razia oversees training, specialist processes, and editorial targets while continuously improving readability, content quality, user experience, and audience engagement. She seeks a detail-oriented professional who takes ownership of their work, meets deadlines, and consistently delivers high-quality factual content.
