Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist will process vendor invoices, coordinate with internal stakeholders on authorization of vendor charges, process payments to vendors on a weekly basis, and coordinate with our accounting team and our vendors on any inquiries that may arise related to accounts payable.

This is a hybrid role that will require a successful candidate to commute to our offices at 1901 Kellett Rd, Little Rock, AR on a routine basis.

Essential functions:

  • Process invoices as received and charge related expenses to accounts and cost centers
  • Communicate with members of other departments to resolve purchase order, invoice, or payment discrepancies as may arise in the receipt and review of vendor invoices
  • Perform routine reconciliations of vendor accounts each month and, as may be requested, more frequently for key vendors
  • Maintain clear and detailed invoice and accounts payable processing records to support annual audit requirements
  • Prepare vendor payment proposals on a weekly basis
  • Prepare vendor payments by check, ACH, and wire on a weekly basis per instructions from the Controller
  • Promptly communicate with our vendors as needed to status and verify open amounts due
  • Coordinate with our accounting team as they reconcile our daily cash balance
  • Additional clerical tasks as may be requested by the Controller.

Requirements

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Associates degree in Accounting or Business Management, preferred
  • Prior experience in an accounting or finance role, preferred

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills
  • Experience with automated accounting and ERP systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel)
