Overview:

As an Accounting Assistant at Pentagoet Inn, you will be an integral part of our team and play a vital role in the success of our business. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong understanding of accounting principles and a keen eye for accuracy. You will work closely with our accounting team to process financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and assist with various accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

– Process daily financial transactions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash receipts

– Prepare and verify invoices, bills, and other financial documents for accuracy and completeness

– Reconcile credit card charges and bank statements to ensure accurate and timely payments

– Maintain accurate and organized financial records, both physical and digital

– Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements

– Respond to accounting-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders

– Support the accounting team with month-end and year-end close processes

– Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities

– Conduct research and identify discrepancies in financial records

– Perform other ad hoc accounting and administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

– 1-2 years of experience in an accounting assistant or similar role

– Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures

– Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software (QuickBooks preferred)

– Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

– Strong organizational and time-management skills

– Ability to work independently and in a team environment

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

– Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
